“What makes Summit’s Clothing so special?”
That was a question we were asked at one of the many vendor events we attend throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles area.
Our answer was simple.
Everything we do has a reason.
Summit’s Clothing was inspired by the things we learned as parents with our first son, Summit. Every design and every choice we make has a purpose behind it and a story that explains why we added it to our clothing.
Take our open sleep sack, for example.
Summit needed to have his feet out while he slept, so we created a sleep sack that allowed him to do just that.
Or our mitten cuffs.
Summit was always picking at his face while he slept, so we wanted to create an option that could help with that while still keeping him comfortable.
These may seem like small details, but they are the kinds of things that make Summit’s Clothing what it is.
As a husband-and-wife team, our goal is simple: we want to make clothing that we are proud and happy to put our own kids in.
If we wouldn't want our kids wearing a design, we don't make it.
That's also why we spent nearly two years working on our very first clothing drop. We wanted to find the right fabric blend, develop our own designs, and build a brand that reflected what we wanted for our children.
As Summit’s Clothing has grown, we've also changed the way we approach our collections.
Rather than simply releasing a collection of random designs, each collection now has a purpose behind it.
Our collection coming soon, Adventure Ready, features animals, nature-inspired designs, and encouraging messages all with the goal of inspiring your little explorers to get outside, use their imagination, and enjoy the world around them.
That love for adventure is something we share as a family.
When we're not working on Summit’s Clothing, you'll often find us taking our children on adventures of our own. Whether it's a trip to the zoo, exploring the wonders of The Magic House, or simply finding something new to discover together, we love encouraging imagination and curiosity in our boys.
And those experiences continue to inspire what we create.
As a husband-and-wife team, Summit’s Clothing is something we work on together while also balancing our lives outside of the business. Kayla works as a teacher and daycare teacher, while Cody is a full-time student and also works as a kitchen manager. So, needless to say, there's never really a dull moment around here! 😂
When we're not working, studying, or chasing after the kids, you'll usually find us doing something together as a family. We love taking our boys on little adventures whether that's a trip to the zoo, exploring The Magic House, getting outside, or simply finding something new to discover.
Our boys are a huge part of what inspires Summit’s Clothing. We don't just want to make clothes that look good. We want to create pieces that fit into the lives of real families and the little moments that come with raising kids.
And of course, Summit himself still has a pretty important role in the business...
Every Summit’s Clothing design has to pass one final test before we use it.
Summit gets the final say.
At just three years old, his official review process is pretty simple:
“Pretty!” = APPROVED! 😂
And honestly?
We're pretty happy with that system. ❤️
