There's a porta potty in the first photo. In the second photo — there's a English manor. Same address.

Nobody on that job site knew they were building one of the most jaw-dropping container homes in America. They just showed up, ran the crane, and stacked 16 containers on a Texas field.

8 x 40ft containers form the main body. 8 x 20ft containers build out the twin towers on each corner. Heavy timber roof frame — lifted into place by crane — spans the entire structure. Then came the limestone cladding, the slate roof, the climbing wisteria, the manicured hedges, and the leaded glass windows.

What started next to a porta potty ended up looking like it belongs in the English countryside.

A traditional stone manor of this scale in the U.S. runs $3M–$6M to build. This one didn't come close.

Containers: 8 x 40ft + 8 x 20ft.

Est. livable space: ~6,400 sq ft.
