In my fever haze last week, I was too sick to go to work or do anything that required any real energy, but after a whole day of scrolling on my phone while watching tv i got really bored.

So I decided to try learning how to crochet...again.

The first attempt I was around 7 years old, and my grandmother was helping out since my mother had surgery. Pretty much what she did all day was crochet, and I asked her to teach me. She got me started on a washcloth. A simple square in one type of stitch. Turns out that the chain at the end of a row is super important and I ended up with a triangle.

I didn't pick it up again until I was in my late 20s. Then I tried several projects, and I would always get frustrated and give up.

Surprisingly, in my sick stupor, I some how managed to get the hang of it. Look at this awesome hat I made! It has ribbed stitching on the brim and everything.

Looks like I can evolve even when something isn't immediately easy for me. I just have to be willing to be terrible as something for long enough to be kind of good at it.
