The U.S. Forest Service wants everyone to hit the trails and it’s offering them another chance to do so for free. The agency added National Trails Day to the list of fee-free days at its national forests and grasslands. MORE BELOW⬇️

In honor of International Family Day, we wanted to take a moment to slow down, say hello, and reintroduce ourselves 🤍

For anyone new here, we also wanted to share a little about who we are. Woodlands Edge is a small, family-owned and family-run shop, and that really is the heart of everything we do.

Kellie and Jonathan are the owners, Johnny is our part-time maintenance man and gear tester 😆, Kellie makes sure the shop is thoughtfully stocked and ready with the right pieces at the right time, and Chelsea (Kellie’s sister) is the marketing guru and eye behind the store — keeping everything looking intentional, welcoming, and dialed in down to the smallest detail.

And then there’s Ted, our shop dog… who fully believes his job is keeping everyone in line and making sure the store operates at maximum charm. He’s also convinced he’s the main attraction (and honestly… he might be right) 🐾

This shop was established in 2007, and having just bought it about half a year ago, we’re currently in a season of refreshing, adding to what we offer, and continuing to build on what’s already here — while still holding onto that same small-town, family-run feel that started it all.

We’re so grateful for this little community of ours — for the fellow shop owners, the people who support small businesses, stop in, say hi, and follow along with what we’re building here. It means more than we can say 🤍

We’ve got a new local maker in the shop and y’all are going to love his work. 🤎

Jim Keane of Keane Leather handcrafts every single piece himself from his home workshop in Cleveland — from the cutting and stitching to all the finishing details. You can truly tell the difference when something’s made by hand.

We’ve got a little bit of everything in from him right now — wallets, keychains, everyday carry pieces, wine bags, and more. Rugged, timeless pieces that are built to last and only get better with use.

Come check out Jim’s work next time you’re in the shop and help us support another talented local artist. (He has a dedicated display case right upstairs in our new western space.) 🤠

Originally made to repair outdoor gear, these peel-and-stick patches are also just plain fun to customize with. Add them to hats, backpacks, jackets, coolers, laptop sleeves, totes, camp gear — pretty much anything that could use a little personality.
