What's in the Workshop Wednesday

This week's workshop spotlight is all about our newest zodiac creation: Gemini.

The latest bars have been curing, labels have been going on, and we're getting everything ready for this lively addition to our Zodiac Collection.

Inspired by Gemini's curious, adaptable, and energetic nature, this bar features a bright blend of lemongrass and green tea. The result is a scent that feels fresh, uplifting, and full of possibility — perfect for welcoming the longer days of summer.

Like all of our soaps, Gemini is handcrafted in small batches using a nourishing blend of tallow, olive oil, castor oil, goat's milk, kaolin clay, and mica for a creamy lather and beautiful finish.

There's always something special about watching a new zodiac sign make its journey from oils and colorants to a finished bar ready to find its home.

After finishing a set that took me well over 15 hours (yes, you read that correctly) to complete; I really wanted to post a beautiful picture of it on social media complete with an elegant and themed background. Being impatient, I wasn't sure if I could pull that together today since it is a busy day. So my mind turned to AI. I could put my picture in there and ask it to make me a beautiful background. Fifteen seconds, done. But after thinking about it, not only does it negatively impact the environment, it also cheapens the value of my work. Fifteen hours of work cheapened by fifteen seconds. I won't lie and say that I didn't struggle with the thought, but I want my followers and customers to see the mess of what fifteen hours of gemstones, wire, chain, dropped jump rings, tears of frustration, and a few choice words looks like. While this is the aftermath, I want to be transparent about my processes and the time I put into each and every piece. Even if that isn't always aesthetic.
