My diet has been mostly on point since January 1. When I “cheated” it became Ketovore. But after virtually no alcohol until my birthday in March, I’ve been finding it easier and easier to have a couple of drinks. Which is a lot of calories. And which gives me the munchies. And while my munchies have been on point. I’ve been eating way too much. I was very full after this past weekend and decided to do another 72 hour fast. Which I just completed Wednesday night. So for a while I am going to post all of my daily food. To hold me accountable. I know most you don’t care other than the food p**n. 😂🤣😂 But it’ll help me remember to be on point. **n incoming.

So what am I missing? Other than 140 calories, 27 g of carbs, and only 1 g of fiber?

I find it hilarious that someone will tell me that my meat fest, my sausage egg and cheese McMuffin with no English muffin will give me a heart attack or clog my arteries. While they're eating a sausage egg and cheese McMuffin with a fried hash brown.

So what exactly am I missing? The most common response I get when I ask is fiber. And the example above there's only one gram difference of fiber. The English muffin used to McDonald's has one gram of fiber.

So I am missing some things. I'm missing 27 g of carbs. I'm missing 140 calories. But I'm not missing flavor or fats or protein. I'm good.

I didn't originally plan to post a follow-up to the blood pressure post from last night.

But seen as my doctor told me she wanted to see my blood pressure 120/70.

And this morning it was exactly 120/70.

How could I not?

Back in July I went to the doctor for gas in my knee and my blood pressure was in the 180s.

I said before that my doctor is keto friendly. And while her immediate concern was getting me on blood pressure medicine I asked for her to give me time to take care of it on my own.

I knew work was very stressful. No one in my life would have said otherwise.

But I was also having drinks every night, or almost every night, which was leading to snacking, which was keeping me out of ketosis, what was also causing me to gain weight.

While my high blood pressure was not only related to my diet, again, it was definitely related to the stress of my job, I knew that it was a lifestyle related.

I told her I wanted some time to bring it down. I went back 3 weeks later and it was in the 160s. Per one of these pictures. And in August and part of September I have gotten my diet back on track. I am no longer drinking alcohol. I have limited my caffeine, even though I'm still drinking coffee. I am losing weight, as you would expect. And as you can see, my blood pressure is back in a normal range.

While I didn't like that her first instinct was to put me on blood pressure medicine, I appreciate the fact that she was willing to let me try it with lifestyle changes.

And I'm even more pleased that the lifestyle changes have worked.

Again, I can attribute this all to my diet. To carnivore. I did quit drinking alcohol and have managed my stress better. But there is no doubt in my mind that my diet, and therefore my weight loss, has positively affected my blood pressure.

I have been fasting for over 24 hours because I am getting my first colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon.

When I made my appointment I requested an afternoon procedure because I am not a morning person. And I didn't feel like getting up early for the procedure.

I find it funny that when I requested an afternoon procedure the receptionist try to get me in the morning so that it would be easier for me because I wouldn't have to fast as long.

It never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to skip a meal, or a couple of mills, and fast, because of this way of eating.

I stayed hydrated. I have taken my electrolytes. And while yes, I am hungry, it's easy. It's not difficult.
