The Denton City Council will receive updates on the city's homelessness initiatives during our work session starting at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 2.

Update Overview (full information linked in the comments):

1️⃣ Current state of homelessness: Services in Denton; Trends in the Point-In-Time Count, Housing Priority List, encampments, Community Survey, and Public Safety calls (Fire & EMS, Police).
2️⃣ City initiatives updates: last year recap; audit update; encampments and street outreach; shelter updates.

The City Council can ask better questions and make better decisions when we receive input from community members. I invite you to review the agenda information for this item and email your questions and ideas based on what you read.

It's easy to identify problems or what isn't working. We need to shift our focus to solutions that address known problems. We need your help to identify evidence-based solutions that are feasible within the constraints of the law, financial resources, economic realities, respecting the safety and dignity of everyone, and the long-term sustainability of initiatives.
