Lap sized Quillow commission (quilt that folds into a pillow) for a pint sized little princess! I used sparkly thread on parts of it and quilted flowers and butterflies in the pattern.

Twin quilts! These were done in May, but hadn't been gifted yet. I like making twin quilts different, but with similar elements (same pattern but different colors, etc). These I did in similar colors, but different patterns and theme - one with lizards and bugs, the other fish. I also did a lot of the same quilting patterns on them (swirls).

I did this Star Wars themed baby quilt at the behest of my baby brother, for his best friend's new baby (please, no one tag or share with either of them, it has not yet been gifted). I love the use of the three dimensional pinwheels for baby quilts - the colors are meant to be the colors of the various light sabers. Oh, my husband pointed out that there are two red pinwheels (always two there are, a master and an apprentice). I actually consulted my resident expert quite a bit on this one. The name and date are supposed to be Star Wars font - does it come across?

My newest commission - this is a quilt for a young girl preparing for open heart surgery to take with her to the hospital. Red is the awareness color for heart, but her favorite color is blue. The butterflies represent hope and change (and are just pretty!). This was such a fun and inspiring quilt to make.

This is a quilt many years in the making, with a story.... The embroidered blocks were made by a friend of my late Grandmother-in-law, to be used by the GIL in a quilt. My MIL gave them to me many years ago, asking if I could complete the quilt. When my SIL was getting married (ten years ago) and I was looking for ideas for a wedding quilt, my husband suggested the waiting blocks of his Grandma's. Knowing my MIL wanted a quilt from these blocks, we asked her permission and spilt the blocks - to be used for two separate quilts. As the GIL hand-quilted everything, I chose to hand-quilt this quilt too (and let life get in the way of completing it in a timely manner). So, ten years later, is a one-of-a-kind collaboration that I hope is somewhat like what my un-met, wonderful Grandmother-in-law would have given to her beloved granddaughter.

Survey, please - if I were to make a quilt to raffle as a fundraiser (for my own kids, for their Taekwondo tournaments and training camps), please indicate by liking this post if you think you might purchase tickets and, if willing, leave a comment on what you think would appeal most to people in terms of size, style, colors, etc. For example, size: wallhanging, bed, lap. Style: pieced, appliquéd (like the birds and flowers I just did), geometric, modern, traditional. Colors: blue/yellow, black/white, pink/brown, etc. Again, for these think wide appeal. Thank you!

A Blooming Nine Patch. This is a super sized king, wider than it is longer, to fit a deep mattress. This is actually my own wedding quilt, made after twelve years. I try to blend the tastes of the couple when making a wedding quilt - I personally love the combination of green, purple and blue together and my husband loves cobalt blue. The green border has birds, one of which is a blue jay - my husband is Jay.
