T-Shirt Quilt Pricing: The pricing as of 1/1/2020 is $22.50 per shirt side that you would like included in the quilt. That covers all of the materials, a custom pattern, and quilting. If you desire to have solid colored fabric borders added to your quilt there is an additional flat fee of $20. Once you have at least 20 shirt sides in your order I will not charge you for pocket logo sized items. Yo

u get to pick your quilting pattern and I’ll recommend fabric border colors that I think compliment your clothing items.

Yesterday I sat down in my favorite chair and grabbed for this lap sized quilt. It was the PERFECT size to cover me from my chest to the tops of my feet! (Not to mention the extra snuggly factor with the AGF Highlands flannel on the back.)

I couldn’t help but remember my mother in-law in that moment. She got so frail the older she got and she would always complain about how cold she was but blankets and quilts were a tripping hazard near her recliner so she sometimes didn’t use them at all. “I would rather be cold than have a broken hip, Annie girl!” (Then she would turn her heat to 84 🤣)

Oh Janey, I wish I had today’s talent back in 2015. We could have solved one of your biggest frustrations 💜💙🩵

It’s so disheartening to see stolen images AND TEXT taken from Reddit posts and deposited directly onto Facebook without any credit given to the maker, designer, publisher, etc. It takes an average of 3 months to go from concept to completion to write a well-written quilt pattern. This isn’t AI, it’s legit brainpower and labor. To see my work (and my words) shared as though someone else is claiming the credit is beyond disheartening. This “person” whose page is called Quilting for Beginners, has 15k followers. Unbelievable.

Two days ago I posted this photo that my husband and I took for my Crafty Moose Quilts business and someone promptly swiped the photo and my words. 😩

If you’re going to share someone’s work please have the decency to give credit to the owner of the work. The rightful owner in this case is Crafty Moose Quilts.

PLEASE buy direct from pattern designers, fabric companies and local quilt shops. Please.

And y’all please please avoid Facebook groups that post content without proper citation - and even worse, avoid the groups that have posts that start with attention seeking wording: “Please be kind, my husband doesn’t like this.” … “The quilters said my work is terrible” … etc. It’s all stolen content. All of it.

🐇 Can you spot the bunny?

This fabric collection by Maureen Cracknell is just stunning. It has a little bit of cutie patootie, a whole lot of color, and a softness to it that makes it perfect for a Hearty quilt. (And I have FQ Bundles in my shop!)

When I wrote this pattern, I wanted it to be a fun, playful way to use directional fabrics. Sometimes patterns use such tiny pieces that we lose some of the beautiful artwork on the fabric. FUN FACT: I actually changed the construction of these blocks after I made my initial mock ups because I wanted even *more* of the directional prints to show!

All hands on deck! Releasing a quilt pattern is often a family affair. Between hauling boxes filled with fabric and helping me get some great shots of my quilts, and so.many.things. in between … I couldn’t do this without the help of my family. This heart’s for you, peeps!

Wooooooo Nelly this is a fun quilt pattern! I can’t wait for y’all to get your hands on it so you can start using up all your fun fabrics that you’ve been hoardi… ahem, collecting. 🥳

There is even a bonus block pattern to help you use up the scraps you’ll accumulate while constructing the heart blocks. It’s called the Whirlybird block and she’s a hoot! Put 4 Whirlies together and you have a super cool secondary pattern staring back at you.

I’ve been sewing up the lap size version of Split Decision: Hearty and these heart blocks are making me so happy.

This size is fat quarter friendly, and you only need 10 fat quarters plus a background fabric to make a cheerful 46 x 57 inch quilt. It’s a great size for a baby quilt, a wall hanging, or the perfect quilt to tuck around your legs while you cozy up with a good book.

This version uses fabrics from the Starling collection by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics, plus 1 Decostitch print and Ethereal Pink for the background.

It’s not too difficult to pull together beautifully paired fabrics for this quilt, but I’m curious what you think. Would it be helpful if I offered quilt kits for this version so the color coordinating is already done for you?

🩷 No one started out with perfect-ish seams. No one.

🧡 Everyone has made mistakes. 🙋‍♀️ I had to rip several seams in my pattern cover quilt.
