toured with the Paul Mitchell Hair Care Show throughout the country and created designs for the FAME Dancers from the popular Television show. “What I thought was a hobby turned into a lucrative career that literally took me by surprise” said Terry. In 1990 the designer teamed up with Melinda Ballard, former publicist for designer Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren. He eventually opened a costume boutique in downtown Austin Tx. As sales soared, Terry increased his staff and moved his operation to Dallas, Tx. He began selling his designs to boutiques and stores throughout the country. In an attempt to reach a larger, more diverse market, Terry added a division that targeted the growing need of the gospel community. Some clients include Hamilton Park First Baptist, St. Luke community United Methodist Church and St. John first Baptist church in Grand Prairie and Gospel artist Kirk Franklin’s gods Property to name a few. He also designed outfits for Mrs. Jakes, wife of Bishop TD Jakes of the Potters House. Terry is a native of Austin, Texas and says his talent comes from his grandmother who helped him develop his craft. He was destined to become a designer, because according to his grandmother he use to sleep under her sewing machine.
