Why do we make art?
To express a POV, to say: I was here
There’s so much pressure to make art that performs — for judges, for an audience, for the algorithm. Work that can be measured, explained, and seen quickly. And in all that noise, it’s easy to forget why we started
Most of us don’t pick up a pencil or start dancing to change the world. We do it because something inside us needs out.
We each see things differently, and that can feel lonely. But when art is made honestly and true to the artist, we recognize ourselves in it. It closes the gap between us, reminding us we’re not that different
That’s why we connect more with raw and organic work than work made to impress. It doesn’t have to be loud. It just has to be real
