An Ode to Joy

For more than 16 years, Joy Walker has been a mainstay at the Miles Thrift Shop where she served as its manager extraordinaire. Wearing so many different hats, Joy’s diverse talents in that role included cultivating and befriending donors, researching and valuing unique donations, recruiting generous volunteers and showing them the constant appreciation they deserve — and doing all of this with the prettiest of smiles on her face. She is responsible for growing the Miles Thrift Shop to the success that it is. We will miss her as she retires today and wish her nothing but the best. We certainly have big shoes to fill and will strive to make her proud. This photo was taken at a celebration luncheon held in her honor today. More photos will follow.
