Fit For You: Alterations

Here's a few ideas in addition to just alterations that I have done.
Being the Grandma of 7 adorable young Grandkids, I have done my share of Disney Costume making. I have made special heirloom quality Christianing gowns and little satin rompers for infants. These were made from fabric from Mom's wedding gown. An original idea I came up with for my Grandkids who miss me and live far away, is the Snuggle Jammie. I make nightgowns or pajamas out of my night gowns that I don't use any more. My Grandkids love these and really cherish them.

Happy New Year! Several of you have gotten engaged over Christmas Holiday. Congratulations! Let the fun begin!
To keep the planning stress-free, may I suggest you invest in a good Wedding Planner Notebook. After deciding the date and venue, choosing your wedding gown will be one of the first items on your list. It usually takes about 6-8 weeks to get your gown custom fitted to you. Plan accordingly and schedule fitting appointments early so you can enjoy this special time. I can do last minute alterations, less than 3 weeks, but there is a Rush fee. I am located in Davis, IL.

In addition, I can do the entire wedding party women's alterations, plus the groom and his grooms men. I was a Men's Tailor for 6 years in an upscale Men's Clothing shop.

Dear Brides,
Have you ever thought about wearing your Mom's gown, but it needed to be updated?
These are pictures of a Mother's Vintage '80's gown I redesigned because the daughter wanted to wear it. It had very large puff sleeves, though. (Think Princess Diana's gown.) The dress fit the bride, but those sleeves needed to be updated. I removed the puff sleeves and designed these darling cap sleeves to give the Vintage '80's dress a fresh look. Mother & Bride loved it.
