Did you tune into the met gala looks from last night? There were some amazing ones! We can’t help though to discuss this years theme and how it can be a bit controversial. Let’s talk about it:

Theme: Karl Lagerfeld-fashion icon. Best known for being the creative director for Chanel from 1983 until he passed in 2019. He played a major role in making Chanel one of the top luxury fashion houses.

Though he was amazing in what he did for top luxury brands that we love today. He also caused a lot of controversy with his personal views. There are plenty to cover BUT we will cover the most problematic to us…his fat-phobic comments.

It was no surprise to us the lack of plus size women in attendance this year. Over the years Lagerfeld had made several comments about women being fat, too heavy, top heavy etc. It’s also no surprise we didn’t see Adele after his remarks years ago calling her a “little too fat”.

Despite his controversial views of women in fashion, we were happy to see those that attended.
