What a beautiful Sunday πβοΈ A great way to start the week and revisit all my strict policies and pricing. I have moved my business from De Queen, AR in the perfect timing. I see why an alterations shop is not permanently located there now. Alterations and sewing is an art. It takes time and patience. When you try to help everyone, it ends up only hurting you in the end trying to people please. That was my mistake. It is a dying art for a reason. Clothing can be bought for pennies online if it doesnβt fit. It takes a long time to learn a skill that is not widely known. I like to help people but i do not help people that do not respect my time. I dont charge for fittings or pick ups and I try to deliver any and all products when Iβm behind to save the customer time. Not every customer is a good fit for me or me for them. It is what it is. I welcome anyone willing to work with me and I will take time to reorganize my business model for the future. It was a mentally and emotionally challenging season but I am proud of what I have accomplished. I will take this as an opportunity to humble myself and take less work in and charge higher prices to compensate.
No more jeans.
No more last minute alterations.
No more free fittings.
I welcome all opinions. As always there are multiple alterations shops in Texarkana and one in Nashville, AR. Feel free to visit another seamstress if my style of art and business does not fit your needs.
Best wishes ππ«Άπ»
