Went to check the hives this morning and found a little surprise!! Thank you to the person who left these adorable bee rocks by my hives!! I just love them.❤❤❤🐝🐝🐝

Sad news today from Bea'a Honey House. I lost a hive today, hive #2. This hive has struggled from day one. I am disappointed to say the least.

I am happy to report Hive #1 and #3 are still very strong this gives me hope.🐝

Still a very sad evening for me I really hoped hive #2 would pull through but I guess it just wasn't meant to bee. 🐝

Update #2

Hive 3 is doing great!!! What I thought was swarming was really "bearding" . This occurs when it's hot and humid out. The bees hang outside of the hive to help cool them down.

Hive three has grown so much I had to put another brood box on it...so amazing!! Needless to say I was so happy to see how well Hive 3 is doing.

Hive 1 continues to grow and do great! It too has a lot of honey bees!!

Hive 2 continues to struggle some. I did check this Hive for varroa mites which is common in honey bees. I did find varroa mites so I will need to treat the hive with OA. I plan to purchase and do this in the next few days. Let's say a little bee prayer for Hive 2!!🙏🙏🙏

Update #1.......its hot outside!

I checked on the hives and became concern about hive 3. I had quite a bit of bees outside the front of the hive. My initial concern was the hive was going to swarm, which can occur when the hive is queenless.

I suited up to check on the hive.

Happy Saturday!!!

Quick update on the hives! They are doing good. Heading back over shortly with some sugar water just to make sure they are getting enough food.
