🌸 SPRING HOUSE 🌸

New for the South Florida season!

This one started in India last year…

The gardens. The colors. Those incredible faded pinks. And pink carnations—which I have always thought are terribly under appreciated. I love them. Romantic, a little old fashioned, and just so pretty.

I came home with all of that floating around in my head and eventually it became a painting.

Then the long part…

painting → textile
textile → pattern
playing with scale
choosing the right fabric
printing
sewing
and finally figuring out exactly what it wants to be.

This one wanted to be a pillow. 🌸

But I was NOT putting just any trim on it.

I searched far and wide until I found this fabulous Italian pink + white cotton brush fringe.

PERFECTION.

I love when something that started as a feeling from a trip finally becomes an actual object you can live with.

Yesterday I spent the entire day on a ladder installing our new ceiling. 😂

The inspiration came from my last visit to the Santa Fe art museum — layers and layers of gold mixed with hand-cut paper garlands from Mexico, radiating across the ceiling.

I’ve always wanted the boutique to be more than a place to shop. I want walking through the door to feel like entering another little world — color, art, clothes, objects, light… all of it coming together.

A joyous escape from the outside world. 🌎

A delight for the body, mind & spirit. 💗✨

New textile. New midi length. Our Tie Neck Dress, reimagined. 🌸

One of the most interesting things about using AI as a creative tool is just how far you can push it. The broader your imagination—and the more specific your direction—the further it will go with you.

The strange part? The human eye 👁️ still knows. We can detect when something isn’t quite real.

Fascinating and a little scary all at once.

For now, I’ll experiment with using it to create these otherworldly places for my very real frocks.

Amanda Johnson Studio Boutique will be closed Friday and Saturday while we travel to Connecticut for the opening of my exhibition at KMR Arts.

If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you at the reception on Saturday, July 11 from 3:00–5:30 PM at KMR Arts, 2 Titus Road, Washington Depot, CT. This new body of work has been a year in the making, and I’m so excited to finally share it.

We’ll be back in Delray and reopen Tuesday at 10 AM. ✨
