Here’s a set custom set of three kitchen knives forged for a client. Handles are curly maple. The blades are a bright satin finish. They’re not quite complete and won’t be until I etch initials into the blades, but before I do that they’re off to a friend of mine to get a nice knife block made. Yes, natural light would’ve made a better pic, but it’s dark outside sooo…

Just a quick test etch on 3 of my hand forged low layer random twist damascus. 8 more hours and they’ll be ready to fit with antler handles and send to the customer. The pattern looks muddy now but that’s a very shallow etch and it’ll clean up considerably after heat treat.

I fired the forge a couple weeks ago after it having been cold since spring. Between my other jobs there’s just not been time. I finally finished up the set of 5 railroad spike steak flippers for a client. There’ll be some blades coming as soon as my materials arrive.
