National Donut Day! 🍩🙌🏽🥳
Originally started to honor the volunteers, most of them women or “donut lassies”, who provided meals to World War I troops on the frontlines. They found that donuts were an effective way to provide food while cooking in extraordinary circumstances. Some even used war helmets as utensils to fry donuts!
