~*cute stuff at the shops*~
(not sure how that last photo got in there 😛)

I got back into the groove this week, sourced some new pieces and restocked both shops where you can still purchase my curated vintage IRL—𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸!!

I am back working .nj once a month, though still taking a break from markets and shows until 2026 most likely… also pushing to give my site a big update by next month so those of ya’ll who aren’t in the NJ areas can shop with me again! :)

Anyways, if you have kids you know that things that used to get done swiftly happen a little slower (and some days not at all), but i’m happy to be easing back into what makes me happy and connected to myself and this business i’ve built over the past 7 years or so while discovering this whole new job of being a mother that also fills me with such great purpose and joy and how they fit together. so thank you for sticking with me in this new chapter! 🤍 -Mandy

Mini Mary McFadden collection coming to .NYC as part of my more formal offerings, two crinkle plisse gowns in the style that made her famous, and one piece which is a departure from that but incredibly cool and modern!

For those who don’t know, Mary McFadden, known as the ‘High Priestess of Fashion, studied design in both NY & Paris, then dropped out to work as Christian Dior’s public relations director, while dating Oscar de la Renta(!!), was a president of the CFDA, and once editor of Vogue South Africa.

Her designs, characterized by their shimmering liquid gold appearance using a technique called Marii, were worn by the likes of Jackie O, Estée Lauder and Diana Vreeland. They were gave the wearer an air of Grecian statue, always remaining on the wearable side of avant-garde, leading Vogue to credit her for changing the way women dressed in the 70s & 80s writing, “Though not hippie-ish in the least, they tapped into the prevalent fantasy of other places and other times.”

Sadly she passed away just last year in Long Island at age 85.

The 7th photo shows the dress version of the sequin halter top I have. Photo 8 of Jackie O wearing one of her pieces in ‘76. Last two photos of Mary herself in her home and a snap of her NYC bedroom in 1972.

Come get your piece of fashion history this weekend at the final Not-A-Normal Market at Barneys in NYC 🌟

One of my favorite pieces in the collection for .nyc 🤎

This 1970s CHAR label leather patchwork vest by brand creator and designer Charlotte Blankenship de Vasquez, who started the company with hand-painted handbags (i mean how could i not love her) while in Mexico in the late 1960s and expanded to focus on western style clothing with the joining up of her sister Sherry Stein in 1982 operating as Char and Sher until they split in the early 90s and the Char Designs name was reinstated.

Over the years their works of art attracted buyers of the New York Boutique Show, the cover of GQ magazine, and celebrity clientele that included Goldie Hawn, Cher, and Waylon Jennings, among others.

Today, Char continues to innovate, offering new designs alongside vintage classics in her Santa Fe boutique and online store.

Come find this piece and many other beautiful western and leather worked pieces this weekend in my booth at Barney’s for Not-A-Normal-Market 🤎

*Last photos from Char website are of Charlotte, and both Char & Sherry with their kids in Santa Fe, 1977*
