Gretchen Bohling Design is a clothing atelier offering bespoke custom garments, high end tailoring, and a private label capsule collection, By appointment only. We design a full line of ready to wear garments, offer made to order custom garments, provide tailoring services, and teach sewing lessons at our Studio in downtown Des Moines. You can schedule a fitting to create your own custom garments

Hello third trimester 🤍 blessed to be so busy with work but that also means I'm officially shutting my books until I get back from maternity leave at the end of June.

Cheers to all my spring/summer brides! You're keeping me busy right up until the end of May when I'll be taking time off to be with my baby boy 🩵

Fall 2025 brides - feel free to message me if you want to set up a first fitting before the end of May and we can pick up in July when I'm back in studio!

Attention 2025 Brides 🤍🤍

If you are getting married in May, June, or July of this year please book your alterations fitting with me ASAP as I'll be going on maternity leave starting the last week of May through mid July. The alterations process takes at least 3 months so I'll be closing my books very soon so as not to overbook.

Those of you getting married in August, September, or October please book your first fitting with me soon as well! My plan is to get you started prior to taking my maternity leave and pick up when I get back mid July 🤍

was a dream to work with! She came to me for her New Year's Eve wedding on referral from a past client and I worked my magic to make her dress fit like a glove 🤍

Things we did:
Took in the underlay about 6" total!
Reshaped the neckline at the underarm
Took in the beaded overlay to show off her gorgeous figure
Hemmed all layers
Fixed/replaced missing beads on the outer layer

Hey All!

As 2025 approaches and my personal life becomes more involved I've decided to restructure the services I offer at gbd. I'll no longer be offering basic tailoring and mending services in order to focus on more formal and couture alterations.

Things like wedding gowns, suiting, formal wear, and designer pieces are where I'll be focusing :)

I will still be doing custom pieces as that's my true passion lies so continue to reach out for any of your custom garments needs 🤍
