James Blue, the founder and creator of The Billy Yon Clothing Company. James has over 20 years of experience in creation marvelous illustrations and graphic art. Inspired by his grandmother that was an artistic child as well, James took the baton that his grandmother passed to him and went running. He would develop his artistic talent at at home and in the Detroit Public School system. Through cre
ative art courses he would would enter multiple contests and won various awards in the arts as well as the sciences. He would later began working at a screen printing shop in Detroit at the age of 17. He would go on to become the head graphic artist there. James would go on to create many works for school athletic programs to business campaigns for large companies all over the city and state. His amazing talent took him to the University of Michigan where he would major in architecture and minor in industrial design. He assisted graphic art projects for the student newspaper and won many creative awards during the time he sat as treasurer of the multicultural counsel in his dorm. James could not shake the graphic art fever that he possessed. After his time at the University of Michigan James's passion brought him back to creating as a graphic artist. During this second time around James took this time more seriously because he would see more of his work out in the public. He began to see people all shapes, sizes, ages and ethnicities wearing designs that he created. At that point he realized he needed to do something that everyone could enjoy. Fast forward to today...
The Billy Yon Clothing Company is founded with the focus based on inspiration. Our motto is "Protect, Build & Prosper". The brand shows that it's not about the clothes as much as it is the mind set of the individual that wears them.
