Iā€™m wasting my time so you donā€™t have to!!! (But donā€™t worry no fabric ever goes to waste around here)

Here are a few tips for spotting an AI pattern:

1. Itā€™s a complex pattern and itā€™s free/waaaay too cheap *not all free or cheap patterns are AI
2. Cover photo is AI
3. Cover photo looks complicated but pattern looks simple
4. Too many models/backgrounds
5. Shop has tons and tons of different patterns but only been open a month
6. Shop has no social media
7. Typos/warped words or graphics

There has recently been a huge wave of AI sewing patterns all over the interwebs. The people that make these are banking on you being excited and inexperiencedā€¦but youā€™re not dummy. Donā€™t waste your time and money and fabric!! Stick with indie pattern designers or trusted larger brands(lots of secondhand options)!

Itā€™s day 5 of the Bat Dress sew along and weā€™re putting together the top half of our bat dresses!

Almost done! Only one day left!!

Forgot to mention it in the voice over but finish the ā€œlongerā€ edge of your facing pieces with a serger or a skinny hem! Or at least sew a zig zag stitch along the edge to prevent fraying!

Itā€™s day 2 of the Bat Dress sew along and weā€™re preparing our sleeves!

I like to tackle a garment by preparing all the separate pieces and then putting them together. Today sleeves, tmrw bodice and then skirt! Then we put her all together!

Itā€™s day 1 of the BAT DRESS SEW ALONG and weā€™re cutting out all of our pieces!

Make sure to pre wash your fabric before this point. You may also want to iron before cutting if your fabric gets too wrinkly in the wash. Wrinkly fabric is hard to cut!

In part two we are going to make our bat wing sleeves! See you then!
