Another test piece of the same tunic I posted two days ago. This time testing an alternate neckline option, cut just above the knee. I made this with a repurposed densely woven antique French linen sheet that wasn’t in the best of shape, but the perfect heavier weight for the perfect drape. I dyed it a rich dark blue and styled it with a vintage metal belt, circa 70s. Stay tuned for more on this pattern.

Another pattern project I tabled is back on the active to-do list. This sample was created by my friend and sewist, Marisa, using a vintage, linen table cloth. Square table cloth with a wide scalloped edge and hemstitching in a contrasting color. She created this top not only to test the pattern, but it was a birthday gift for her sister. More to come about this tunic pattern!

Sewn with reclaimed 19th century French handwoven linen we found while digging through an 18th-century barn in New England. If you haven’t ever sewn with vintage or antique linen, it’s a must.
