If you've been looking for the November Class Schedule, here we go!
This month everyone will be making an "Apron". It's holiday baking time, and what's better then a new apron in the kitchen. Each student will be required to bring:
Child - 1 yard of main fabric color
Teen or Adult - 1 1/4 yard of main fabric color
1/2 yard of a contrast
1 package Rick Rack trim (opt)
Fabric should be a cotton print.
Choose your favorite holiday print, a fun kitchen print or anything you like.
Fabric can be found local at Walmart, or Dakota Sew and So. I've heard there's a sweet quilt shop in Richardton, or Bismarck which has JoAnns fabric, and Hobby Lobby.

I have added a time for Teens, and an Adult Class.

I want to say "Welcome" to all our new students! September brought us many students excited to learn a new skill. Our Intro class created pin cushions, and totebags. Nice work everyone.
Some finished previous projects, while another started on a skirt. We had our first stuffie class featuring a Snuggle Bear. Great work you guys!
September came and went fast. It was a joy getting to know all our new students and reconnecting with our returning sewers. Looking forward to October. Thank you everyone!

Edit: Added one more skirt pattern option. This one is sized for 8 - 16.

If you are signed up for the Wednesday Skirt, Shorts, Pants Class. You will need to purchase a pattern, fabric and trim, elastic or other notions that the pattern calls for.
*Be aware of sizes in your pattern. This skirt with Rick Rack trim only goes to size 8. Which will fit some. But maybe not everyone.
Here are a few examples of the patterns that will be good for class. If you are shopping and not sure about a pattern please check with me before purchasing. Try to choose an "Easy to Sew", "Sew Simple", a beginner pattern.
Also I recommend washing your fabric before bringing it to class. This ensures your project won't shrink after it is finished.
*Dakota Sew & So is offering a discount for fabric purchased for class. Check out what they have.
If you have questions about anything, please ask. This is new territory.

Sept. 16th, 23rd, 30th
Intro to Sewing

If you are new to the program and ready to learn how to sew this is the class for you. We will unravel the mystery of the sewing machine, and create 2 projects.
All supplies included.
Cost: $65

Skirts, Shorts, or PJ Pants

For advanced sewers. NA for beginners.
In this class you will learn to work with a commercial pattern, explore pattern markings, and learn the construction of a simple piece of clothing.
You will supply your pattern, fabric and notions (aka, thread, elastic, trim).
I will post a few example patterns to look for, or if you are shopping choose an "Easy to Sew" pattern. Elastic waist version preferred for this clothing project.

August classes I will call "Sewing Shorts" Each class will run for 2 hours. We will review sewing basics and complete a project.

*All supplies are included.
*Cost - $30.00 per 2 hr time slot

Sign up for a time slot that works for your schedule. You can choose more than one if you'd like.

Projects:
HOMEWORK HELPER - a Zipper Pouch with pockets on front and loops to fit in a 3 ring binder. Perfect for organizing your back to school items.
CRAYON OR PENCIL ROLL - Keep all your crayons or pencils in one place. Makes them easy to see and always ready to use.
INTRO TO SEWING - ENVELOPE PILLOW. If you are new to the program or have not made the envelope pillow case, or would like to make another, this is the class to choose.

Hello stitchers!! For all of you who are ready to get back to the sewing machine, here's the scoop. I will be starting up classes in August. I am waiting on some family news before I can get my schedule set. I hope to know the details by this weekend.
As soon as I can I will get the schedule posted. Thank you for your patience and can't wait to get back in the classroom. Hope you are all enjoying the summer!
