For this open house, I've been graciously invited by seasoned jewelry artist Barb Mason to show my clothing at her home in Flossmoor. Barb is retiring from her many years of making "funky, chunky, and fabulously hip" statement necklaces for Bobbi Kahn jewelry. All her pieces will be 50% off at this event, her final sale!

Barb has also invited Jan Hamning, an energy medicine and EFT practitioner, who will be speaking on how our words and thoughts affect our energy and health from 11:00 - 12:30 before the clothing and jewelry show.

During and after the show, there will be refreshments where you can meet the speaker and artists and enjoy each other's company.

Come any time during the event hours, and stay as long as you like. Should be a great time. Hope to see you there!

My parents were getting rid of some old Christmas tree ornaments, and since these were shaped like walnuts, the idea popped into my head to make a "Black Walnut Upcyclery" mini Christmas tree--from all recycled materials.

I found this gem on Ebay--a pre-owned tiny tree made of wire, fabric cord, and a wood base, perfect for me given my love of all natural materials.

Then I threw together this little tree skirt from a thrift store cotton shirt and wool pants, plus a scrap from an old silk kimono from Japan (Ebay again). The rest of the shirt and pants will be used to make more skirts for my store. I love when nothing goes to waste!

With a little bit of time and creativity, so many things can be made from stuff that already exists in the world. And it's fun!

So excited to announce the opening of my new clothing store! I've loved clothing and design for as long as I can remember, and a friend finally convinced me it was time to learn how to sew and bring my visions to life. It's one of those "I can't believe I get to do this" kind of moments!
