I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream! This was my first favorite Bobby/Barlow song. It was a mantra for my progression towards independence as a young man, learning how to navigate my surroundings while finding stable footing in a world that seemed increasingly destabilized. In many ways, the lyrics became a letter to myself about leaving home for college, about bidding farewell to my classmates and friends, to my parents and siblings (see my senior yearbook photo and caption, slide 3). If you are also a child of countless trees, grab one of these reprints and tap the tambourine.

Well The Music’s Thunderin’ - I was really just getting deep into the Grateful Dead at this point—the Summer between my sophomore and junior year of High School. I wasn’t yet great at calling songs or predicting setlist patterns. No problem. The guy next to me at this show nailed the Stranger > Franklin’s after a few of Jerry’s tuning twangs. Needless to say, I thought he was some kind of wizard. Still do.

Also, our Scarlet pre-order is live, through Sunday. Grab a tee, in white, silver or yellow 🌹💀

New Scarlet merch drops tomorrow at noon, pre-order through the weekend! This bright light comes to us from Ella Fabulous, by way of Boulder, Colorado. No stranger to the Tourbus family, Franny’s oldest daughter is not like other girls, and has been a major source of packaging and design inspiration for our creative team, going back years and years. Her third official design is our favorite so far, and honors that blend of improvisation and illusion that makes this song so fu***ng meaningful. Safe to say, we are planning some deep weird s**t for the pre-orders, so don’t miss. Love from Boulder, Bridgeport & Beyond 🌹💀 Luke, Franny, Ella, Abe & The Roadies

Grateful For The Southwest! My family and I just returned from an epic adventure in Utah and Arizona. We took our youngest son Zion to the park after which he is named (1st photo). Then we went south to the fabled Antelope Canyon, then on to meet up with our oldest son Noah to experience Moab’s finest via Arches (he and Z at “The Windows” in 3rd photo) and Canyonlands, before finally landing in Northern Arizona for a look at the Southwest Rim of the Grand Canyon and a day in Sedona. So stunning. It’s actually hard for me to find words to describe the visual beauty of these lands, of our planet. The experience got me thinking about many things, including the Grateful Dead’s time in the Southwest and their lyrical references to this part of our country. To honor all these things, we’re re-releasing our Friend of the Devil design, available for pre-order now.

Been So Long I Felt This Way! Our favorite version of Estimated Prophet is from 5/5/77 in New Haven, CT. We’re suckers for Jerry’s guitar tones, heading into the main solo. They cause us to undulate in strange ways, admittedly wanting to rise up to paradise. Speaking of paradise, this old faithful design has been hand-screened in all its glory, on the softest 50/50 tees. These shirts are ready for summer, for festivals, for dancing, for surfing, for grooving, for camping, for hammocks, for campfires, and for California.

LAST CALL for Cornell Tees. Pre-order only // In the summer of 2017, I took my son Noah on a college tour of Cornell. Standing in that hallowed Barton Hall, taking in the grandeur and energy of the space, just melted something inside me. Fortunately, Noah snagged the 2nd pic while I was lost in the overwhelming vibes of Deadhead dreaming. The room is much larger than I thought, with permanent spiritual hints of the dosed dancing bodies, undulating Jerry solos, perfect band harmonies, and spinning Betty Cantor reels, on what was undeniably one of the greatest musical moments of all time. I am biased, of course. Pre-order our much less famous, but super fun analog ode to May 8th, 1977.

On our tour of Ithaca, we stopped at this very stunning waterfall in Trumansburg, NY (last slide). The pic reminds me of how fleeting and fabulous life is, and makes me appreciate the way we’re all fumbling through it together, just putting our fingers in other people’s photos. ❤️💀

5/5/77 New Haven Coliseum! Without this show/cassette, there would be no Tourbus. This is the bootleg I wore out in my Sony Walkman and Kenwood car stereo. This is the bootleg that made me fall hopelessly in love with the Grateful Dead. The FOTM transition is my all time fave, and I’m just plain obsessed with the entire 2nd set, which has been in our dual studio tape deck forever.

I never got to see the Dead at the Coliseum, but I did have the honor of catching the Allman Brothers in 92 and Phish in 93. Amazing shows. What a weird and wonderful venue, in the city where I was born.
