We have so much growing up to do. No, I am not saying I've arrived. That is why I said, "we." However, I have learned to look for the positive in every situation and person. This doesn't mean I will lie to you about what I see; it simply means I want to lift you instead of burying you.

I see far too much hate and vitriol disguised as keeping it real. Yes, people need to be held accountable for the truth they claim they want to create. My great-grandmother used to always say, "baby, you will get far flies with honey than you will with vinegar." I still haven't figured out why I would want flies, and personally, I think p**p works better. But I know the message she was trying to deliver. She was telling me people respond to kindness over aggression and negativity.

Another thing I see is far too many cliques. Look, you will not make me dislike someone solely because you do. Also, you don't have to like a person to acknowledge the good they do and how their work and purpose are needed. There are people I know who don't like me, and yet I will share their posts, support their efforts and never share my opinion about them---because my hopes for this world are bigger than me.

No, I am not suggesting that everyone run around co-signing BS. I am suggesting more light and positivity in how we engage one another. Look, no one is obligated to see life through your lens. Becoming hostile to them doesn't change that fact. If you don't like the environment, climb out of the box.
