In our very first order we ordered men’s + little boys shirts & one had a Phil Robertson quote on the back that reads “Fear God, love your neighbor & shoot ducks” 🦆
In the recent news on the passing of Phil Robertson - I wanted to put out a post in honor of him + the Robertson family but remind us what we should truly be living for and what the Robertson family has taught us especially Phil.
Majority of us grew up watching duck dynasty but in our household we also watch the unashamed podcast daily. We also watch the duck call room & Sadie’s podcast called Whoa that’s good.
I truly believe that Phil’s life, testimony and legacy will always be an incredible inspiration to millions of people for so many years to come. He lived a rough life but later was saved by Jesus and solely lived for Jesus from then on. He didn’t live for the world. As Sadie said “I can’t stop thinking about how he lived in the middle of nowhere, in a small, humble home with no cell phone or computer and yet his life touched millions with the Hope of Jesus”. He lived exactly that. I heard him preaching and he said that he was rich & famous now but that the problem with fame and money is that it cannot remove his sin nor our sin. No money will help you be raised from the dead. No money in the world will save you from Hell. No good deed will save you from Hell. Let that sink in.
What do you wake up and chase day after day? MONEY. But it will never be enough. It will never truly fulfill your heart & your soul. Only Jesus can do that. Only Jesus can give you the peace and joy in life that you so desperately need and desire in life.
I think one of the most incredible things about the Robertson family is how each of them are continually going state to state & platform to platform to spread the Gospel. Their family is unified and working for the Lord together. Spreading the good news of Jesus Christ together.
I truly believe we all need to strive to do that in our households, our extended families and our communities. We have got to come together and remember the true purpose of living. Life won’t be so chaotic. Maybe we will all learn to slow down and enjoy each other and not pick apart the negative sides of each other. We will truly forgive each other. We will truly love thy neighbor. We will see the beauty in all things because every person and thing on this earth was created by God and God alone.
On Sadie’s podcast a couple weeks ago her grandmother said “I don’t spend time thinking about yesterday and I don’t spend too much time thinking about tomorrow.” Don’t bring your yesterday into today and don’t bring your worries of tomorrow into your day today because tomorrow may never come. Matthew 6:34 says “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”.
I haven’t seen one negative post about Phil since his passing. It has all been the most beautiful honorary post you’ll see. And 99% of them has been him preaching or talking about Jesus. When you die - what will they be able to say about you? How many lives can they say you helped bring to Jesus? Don’t let that number be 0. Go share Jesus. Don’t let this race of life be over and you not win and go to Heaven.
