It’s OFFICIAL !! I’ve finally retired from doing Bridal Alterations! NOW - I will TEACH SEWING and ALTERATIONS!! I started making Bridal Gowns at 16 for clients and the snow ball continued for 50 years! I’ve created gowns for Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America. Made gowns for music videos, celebrities, red carpet events. I’ve had my work featured in magazines, newspapers, books, social media. It was truly a lifelong love affair with all things Wedding/Bridal. I learned to sew from my Mom at age 10 and by 16 was teaching my home ec sewing class in high school as I had passed up the teacher. At 18 I went to school for floral design and at 19 went back for training in Cake decorating. My first business was a Wedding Planning service where I did everything from gowns to flowers to cakes. My second business was a bakery (named after my precious Aunt Annabelle) where I specialized in wedding cakes. I continued to make and alter Bridal gowns and opened a store in Hamilton before moving it up to Columbus, where I live now. Gone will be the days where I stayed up for 24-48 hours straight working on a project and putting in 100 hour work weeks. For clients - I have snipped the last thread - but for myself and my family - I will continue to create. I’ve told my kids that when I die, please put a needle & thread in my fingers so I can go on sewing in the afterlife. It’s a bittersweet end to a very long and passionate career but it was time. BUT!!! Don’t think I am letting all these skills and information I’ve amassed go to waste! I’m currently writing a book about Alterations AND in JUNE 2026 I will begin offering SEWING LESSONS for Beginner - Advanced AND Bridal Alterations!!! I’ve been truly blessed by God to have a talent that I’ve used to serve others. The support I’ve had from friends, family and clients truly bolstered me as an Artist ❤️

Special thanks to my Bride, Kelli Garvin for the beautiful flowers. I’ve been dealing with possible eyelid cancer but I am happy to report that I am cancer free! I have been anxious about it but am relieved now that it’s over. Kelli and her Mom were such a blessing to me and these were sent in support of my recovery. Thank you Kelli ❤️❤️❤️ The flowers are in a heart shape!!! Love them ❤️❤️❤️

Selecting a Qualified Seamstress for Your Wedding Gown: A Vital Consideration. As a highly skilled Master Seamstress, I am capable of creating any item that requires the use of needle and thread. Besides wedding gowns, the following are a few examples of my previous work.

The requirement of a Modesty or Purity vestment is a common practice in certain religions. My bride chose a strapless gown and requested modifications, including the addition of an upper bodice, cap sleeves, and back bodice. A unique challenge arose, as she desired the back of the gown to appear as her natural skin tone. By layering multiple colors, I successfully matched her skin tone while maintaining sufficient opacity to conceal the purity vestment. The final result was a virtually undetectable vestment beneath the gown. Due to the bride's residence in Connecticut and the lack of local experts, she made monthly trips to Ohio for our appointments. Following a thorough search for a Master Seamstress, she discovered my services. Sew grateful ❤️

SPOTLIGHT Gown of the Week:
❤️Shannon❤️
What a Bride!! She was so full of s***k and knew exactly the look she was going for. We worked together to highlight the gown to its best advantage with alterations and added elements from my “Something Borrowed” collection to finish the look. For alterations I removed lace shoulder cap sleeves and turned them around to become more of a neck lace. I added bra cups, b***y pop seams, adjusted princess seams on bodice, hemmed 4 layers, installed 4 bustles (1under, 3over), sewn on the beaded belt, steamed and pressed gown. She utilized my “Something Borrowed” collection by choosing a crown, blue shoe clips, bridal purse and fur wrap. Her pictures says it all! Here’s her review:

“Choosing Deborah as my fairy godmother was one of the easiest choices I made for my wedding. After seeing her skill and variety of gowns, I was positive I had made the right choice. Then we actually worked together. The knowledge, the service, her personality, and the sweetest home studio was more than I could have imagined. She even lets you borrow items from her collection. My dress fit PERFECTLY and she made my dream come true. I highly recommend the master seamstress, as she is a true master in her craft.”

❤️Shannon brought me so much joy each time she came for a fitting. Her personality is infectious!!❤️

SPOTLIGHT Gown of the Week: ❤️Jess❤️
Jess brought me her Mother’s gown from 1970s to become her wedding gown. As we worked on it, Jess kept going back in her mind to the “one” she had tried on in a bridal shop. We changed directions and used the mother’s gown to create her Reception Dress as well as her Rehearsal Dress, also altering the new Bridal Gown. Each one was unique, lovingly made and I felt honored to be a part of her journey. She borrowed a bridal purse, bridal belt. Each Bride is special to me, always a piece of my heart ❤️
Here is her review:
“Deb was absolutely incredible to work with. We originally planned to turn my mom’s gown into a gown for me. She helped pick out fabrics and came up with a design for a gorgeous dress. I ended up changing my mind just a month before the wedding and decided to buy another dress I had found, and had Deb turn the one we were working on into a reception dress. It worked out great. She made me another beautiful dress out of extra fabric, so I ended up with 3 amazing dresses for the wedding weekend. She also used the lace from my mom’s gown for my veil, it was such a special touch. So happy to have had my Fairy Godmother.”
My best wishes for a lifetime of true joy together ❤️
For 2025 Brides!!!! It’s time to book your wedding month with me - even if you don’t yet have a gown! You don’t want to miss being on my books!!!

❤️Spotlight Gown of the Week ❤️
Samantha was an absolute vision in her ivory satin ballgown, complete with a dramatic chapel train. Originally strapless and designed to sit an inch below her natural waist, we elevated its elegance by adding custom straps to complement the banding at her waist. The gown was meticulously hemmed to perfection, and the attached flowing overskirt added a layer of grandeur.

For her bustle, we created a sophisticated Ballroom-style design, seamlessly folding up and under the gown to maintain its graceful silhouette. To ensure a secure fit, we utilized sturdy lobster-claw clasps, known for their strength and reliability.

Samantha radiated beauty and grace on her November wedding day, a true testament to timeless bridal elegance!
