Hi Midwest Girls, customers & loyal followers-
This has been something truly I have been putting off for years, but reality hit this weekend when Facebook told me their best recommendation for the lack of advertising capabilities was to: START OVER.
So here we are. This page will remain active for awhile, but our hopes is that we will completely transition to the new page.

Hi Midwest Girl & Midwesty customers & loyal followers-
The Midwest Girl needs your help & if our brand has brought any joy to your life over the last 10 years, I really hope you can help us.
If you have been here for a while you may remember when our page was hacked in 2021. Hackers were able to access our advertising account & run fraudulent ads upwards of 15K on our credit card. Thankfully we were able to rectify the issue quickly & gain access to our account & ads again.
Two months later in early 2022, Facebook decided to restrict our page from advertising with little to no explanation besides the blanket statement of : “we didn’t comply with advertising policies.”
To date I have spent a ridiculous amount of time & effort to try & reinstate our page for advertising. I have reached out to the Iowa Attorney General to have our claim submitted on our behalf. That proved unsuccessful. We have had bigger agencies reach out & try to troubleshoot on our behalf. That also didn’t work.
This weekend I was finally able to get in contact with Facebook support. We went around and around and around to them ultimately telling me that our current page would NEVER be able to advertise & we should just start over.
They told me, “you should just start over.” That statement hit me like a ton of bricks. A page that we established 10 years ago that has 20K amazing followers, countless memories & photos essentially means absolutely nothing to them, but means so so much to our small business.
It’s how we launched our business. How we share our story. How we connect with our community & how we have been able to grow.
So here we go…we are going to START OVER. This won’t be an easy process, but I truly believe the longevity of our business relies on it. Retail has changed so incredibly much & we need to be able to advertise our business on social media.
The tricky part is we can’t just make a hard switch. We have to create a new page with a new name & hope we can garner enough likes & followers to eventually be able to shut down our current page & then rename our new one OR we will just have two pages with very similar content. Truly, this is uncharted territory & I don’t have the answer of how it will shake out.
We have created a new page & are simply calling it: Shop The Midwest Girl as that is our name on Instagram. It would mean the absolute world to Marah, myself & our business if you would like this new page & also share it. We need all the help we can get & if I know Midwest Girls, they are always willing to help.
