Here we are, in the final moments of 2025! I’ve been meaning to post something since Whimsy‘s 10th anniversary back on Small Business Saturday weekend, but, well…life. Better late than never right?
It’s been a wild ride, reflecting back on Whimsy‘s humble beginnings as a tiny holiday pop-up shop on W. 1st Street to our current home in Fitger’s along the beautiful shores of Lake Superior!
First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has played a role – big or small – in Whimsy’s success up to this point! That includes my family, who have supported, and believed, and grown alongside me from day 1, as well as friends, and the special staff members I’ve had the pleasure to work with and become friends with over the past decade. I also couldn’t have done it without the many sales reps who have helped develop Whimsy’s thoughtful curation of goods, especially including the MN sales reps who have gone above and beyond to provide the best service to Whimsy (thank you SO much Megan and Jennie)! And I definitely don’t want to forget to thank the many small, independent makers who have shared their special goods with Whimsy! We treasure all of those relationships!
However, Whimsy wouldn’t have made it to this big milestone without the ongoing support of our wonderful customers! We’ve marveled at how quickly your babies have grown into big kids and we love meeting those customers who are just discovering Whimsy for the first time. From gender reveals to helping pick out outfits for special occasions, and everything in between, we feel truly honored when you think of Whimsy!
For Whimsy’s anniversary celebration, we asked and to dazzle us with delicious treats, and that they did! Last but not least, we want to extend our gratitude to the businesses at Fitger’s who donated to our grand prize giveaway basket: $50 bonus bucks, .the.label $25 gift card, $25 gift card, $25 gift card, $10 gift card, growler of beer + pint glass, 2 books, and coffee + mugs.
