Just arrived … Antique oak hutch cabinet, (one piece) a classic style of American country furniture popularized in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with wavy glass & arched window panes. This Mess today!

These are a rare, antique pair of Jennings Brothers (JB) Model #2653 "Gloucester Fisherman at the Wheel" bookends.
*Production History -these high-quality decorative pieces were manufactured by the Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Co in Bridgeport, Connecticut, during the 1920s to 1930s.
* The design - a copyrighted reproduction sculpted by the listed artist Leonard Craske. It directly mimics his iconic, real-life Gloucester Fisherman's Memorial Statue ("Man at the Wheel") unveiled in Massachusetts in 1925.
*The official title - of the piece is "They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships," referencing Psalm.
*Finish -They are beautifully finished with a detailed brass/ dark greenish-bronze cladding patina.
