This just popped up on my Instagram! I altered this beautiful gown for Alexis Loomans in 2023 for the Miss USA pageant. I had 2 days to get it done before the pageant in Reno NV!

I am currently at 10 weeks post back surgery. I am happy to say that I am now taking work that can be marked and dropped of in the bin next to my front step. Be sure your name and number are attached.
I'm still not able to do appointments as I can't get up and down off the floor. It'll be awhile before that happens.
Thank you to all who helped get me through this with visits, texts and food! Very much appreciated!!!
It feels so good to be back sewing again and doing what I love!!!

This is Brooke Barcena, the youngest daughter from the Marsalas family. She bought this Vintage gown at a thrift shop and needed it altered. I had to basically remake the gown. It had a very full skirt which I cut down to a straight skirt. I also lowered the neckline and added a slit.
Everyone close to me knows that Marsalas has always been my favorite restaurant. For part of my payment I requested that her dad Miguel make spaghetti sauce for me. He did just that, made me a big batch, and what a treat that was! I will be forever grateful!!!
Brooke, you were an absolute delight to work with and I wish you all the happiness in the world!

Today I go home after two weeks of hospitalization and intense rehab for my back surgery.
My Alteration shop will remain closed, temporarily.
I will not be able to do any kind of alterations anytime soon.
I will however be able to keep making my doll clothes so my etsy shop will remain open.
Thanks to all of you that reached out to me with words of encouragement. They helped me get through some pretty dark days..
Tonight I will be in my own bed and be able to pet my kitties. That's as good as it gets! On to brighter days!!

For all of my loyal customers, I am currently temporarily closed for all alterations. I had spinal fusion surgery on Aug 13 and Im still in the hospital, day 5 of my recovery. I will be moving to a rehab facility tomorrow. This is a long and grueling recovery but it will be so worth it in the end. After 17 years of suffering with back pain, I want to feel normal and enjoy sitting at my sewing machine again. I will keep updates as to when I will reopen! I will be sewing with a vengeance!!!

Here is the latest pageant gown I altered for Keeley Collins from Waunakee. She was in the All American Pageant in Charleston SC and placed in the top.10.
She was beautiful and a joy to work with!

This is my customer Julie. She just celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary. She wanted to wear her original dress from when she got married for their 50th celebration.. I cut if off and made it into a short dress along with adding a corsett to the back. It looks so cute on her!
