Welcoming local and mail in quilts. for 15% off first quilt! I’m Meghan, the quilter, longarmer, and pattern designer behind A Piece of Quiet Quilts. Quilting has been part of my life since childhood, and it has grown into the most unexpected and joy-filled career. I recently moved into my own studio here in Durham, and it has opened up a whole new chapter for my business: more space fo
r quilting, for teaching, and for gathering. Longarm Quilting Services
One of the things I love most is helping quilters bring their tops to life. I use a 12-foot APQS Lucey with IntelliQuilter to offer professional digital edge-to-edge quilting with a typical two-week turnaround. Whether you’re finishing a heirloom quilt, a modern throw, or a quick gift, I’m here to add texture and care to your work. Quilt Patterns
I also design quilt patterns that blend modern style with timeless sophistication. I’ve released several patterns and have many more in the works, each created to help you grow your skills and enjoy the process. New Studio, New Possibilities
With my new studio space, I’m expanding into classes, workshops, and small-group sewing days. The goal is simple: to create a welcoming place where quilters can learn, make, and connect. I love seeing people gather around the cutting tables, laughing over color choices, or diving into new techniques together. Community has always been at the heart of quilting, and I’m excited to nurture that here in Durham. A Bit of My Story
I made my first “quilt” around age 10, a funny little blanket stitched from pre-cut squares and whatever we had around the house. It wasn’t fancy, but it became the most-loved sick-day snuggle quilt. My dad was a carpenter, and he passed on a love of making that shows up in everything I do. Today, quilting is my creative outlet, my work, and my happy place, especially when I’m hand-binding on the couch after the kids go to bed.
