I show up here every day. It's part of my routine, my work, and honestly, part of who I am.

This week, I haven't had much to say.

My dad passed away unexpectedly, and I've been learning that grief doesn't always look the way you expect it to. Sometimes it's sadness. Sometimes it's anger. Sometimes it's staring at your phone realizing there will never be another text, even the ones that seemed meaningless at the time.

As I've thought about him this week, one thing keeps coming to mind. When I decided to open Nest, he believed in me. He didn't ask many questions or need a detailed plan. When I asked if he'd like to help invest in the store, he simply trusted me and said yes. Looking back, that meant more than I probably told him.

If you've noticed the quiet, that's why.
