We thought One-Eyed Hank was about the eye.

Turns out it’s really about the tail.

The eye is what gets your attention.

The tail is what teaches the lesson.

No matter who’s walking through the door, Hank acts like they’re the best thing that’s happened all day. No grudges. No self-pity. No worrying about yesterday.

Just pure joy that someone stopped to say hello.

That’s a pretty good way to live.

Hank stopped by Eatonton Veterinary Services today for his regular checkup.

The verdict:

✅ Handsome
✅ Healthy
✅ Down a few pounds

Hank is especially proud of that last one. He’d like everyone to know that achieving your goals is much easier when someone else controls access to the snack cabinet.

A big thank you to the team at Eatonton Veterinary Services for taking such good care of him—and for providing a patriotic photo backdrop worthy of a celebrity.
