Some of the most iconic designs in history didn’t start with fashion… they started with architecture.

In 1987, designer Tinker Hatfield changed sneaker history with the Nike Air Max 1.

His inspiration? The radical architecture of Centre Pompidou in Paris — a building famous for exposing its internal structure on the outside.

Instead of hiding the technology, Hatfield did the same with the shoe.

He revealed the air cushioning system.

That single idea created one of the most influential sneaker lines ever made and helped shape modern sneaker culture.

From the Air Max 1 (1987)
to the Air Max 95, 97, Vapormax, 270 and 720…

One architectural idea turned into a design legacy.

Before it became a fashion staple, the trench coat was built for war. 🧥 ✨

Designed for British officers navigating the muddy trenches of World War I, the trench coat combined durability, weather protection, and functionality. What began as military gear eventually marched its way onto city streets and runways around the world.

Two legendary British houses—Burberry and Aquascutum—both claim credit for shaping the trench coat we know today. Aquascutum pioneered waterproof wool in the 1850s, while Burberry later introduced gabardine, a revolutionary breathable yet weatherproof fabric.

Over time, the trench coat evolved from battlefield utility to timeless style.

More than a century later, it remains one of the most versatile pieces in fashion—equally at home in the rain, the office, or on the runway.

A true classic never goes out of style.
