I will be deactivating my Etsy page at the end of the week.

1. Orders are so few and far between, it's borderline tedious to do them when I get them.

2. USPS can't for some reason, get an order to my customers on time. I get so many messages, often 2 weeks after I sent out the order, stating their order hasn't arrived. Generally, I tell them to wait another 1-2 days and if it doesn't arrive by then, I'll gladly send a replacement. Most of the time it will arrive that day and all will be good. 3 times, including this morning, I've had to send a replacement. One time it was lost, the 2nd time, their order showed up the day I sent out the replacement. And I'm willing to bet, this person's decal will show up today.

And if you say I should have tracking on them; I tried that once. It costs almost as much as the decal itself to have tracking for a plain white envelope. So, to keep it free shipping and Etsy costs low, I have to take the chance and hope it will arrive in 3-5 business days like any other letter sent via postal service. But I can't trust it anymore. So what's the point?

So now that I am buying a brand new printer, what am I doing with my current printer?

Glad you asked!

I am going to drain all of the ink, put it all back in their bottles and if it's still good, reuse it. Why not right?

Then clean out all the lines, nice and shiny.

Then for the time being I will store it in the crate it came in until such time I have the means to buy a new motherboard for it. I am going to clean the original print head and put it back. Because I'm still gonna save all the money I can.

Then, I am going to buy neon dtf ink and start doing blacklight shirts. Because everybody loves blacklight shirts! Haha!

So, that will be primarily used for that while still having another printer for regular Apparel and various products.

Mind you, these plans aren't for a while down the road. Probably not until after I have both printers paid off in full.

Smile Wear Brand Apparel will soon be back and running in the dtf business! Right now, I am looking into a new printer that just came on the market a couple weeks ago. This printer will make daily maintenance a little bit less of a hassle. So if you or anyone you know is looking for custom work or just want to check out the designs we have to choose from, rest assured, we'll be back up and running in a couple weeks. Also gonna try to do more videos. As much as I keep saying it, I want to, I'm just more of a doer than trying to find the right angles, aperture, editing, etc. But I'm gonna try. Lol. A couple of designs I whipped up tonight using a real image, AI, and old fashioned Photoshop skills just for the hell of it using my bike as the inspirational image. I like the neon one the most, but I love them both equally! I really wish I could print these right now. 😭

I've done more work than I thought when I look back on it. Thousands of decals. Hundreds of shirts. Yet I remain one of the most underrated up and coming independent companies of my era.

Since I have 2 weeks off from one job, I'm using a lot of my spare time working on the website. I'm hoping by the time I'm back up and printing, I'll be able to go live. And then I need to find a way to market it better to get people ordering. I'm working on adding a lot of variety items, not just clowns. Also I will be having a dedicated section for offensive gear not suitable for any younger audiences. 14 items added so far and I have plenty more designs that I've done over time to add without coming up with any new ones yet. Stay tuned for more!

So, as of right now, my printer is down and out. I'm not sure if it's the motherboard or not. I tried powering it back on after cleaning out my *new* clogged print head and after it was done with the booting process, I got 2 red flashing lights. I will have to take it apart to see if there's anything visually wrong with it. It's possible I may need to purchase a new motherboard. On the other hand, I did see another printer that I liked, that said, "self cleaning. By button, or have it on a cycle" so I'm thinking it will do its own head cleaning. This printer is 1700. But possibly more if I do payments. I haven't made my decision yet, but I will by the time my heat press that I don't even like, is paid off on August 3rd. Until then I will continue to come up with designs, work on the website and sell the designs I already have made up. Hopefully get enough money to purchase a new printer. Sorry for anyone I'm not able to do any work for right now. But if you're patient enough, I will be back up and running in no time! 🫶🤡

Out of all the designs I have made for other people and their business, I have yet designed a shirt for myself. I have been toying around with a design for quite a while but nothing I wanted to take public until now. So consider this testing the waters if you will. I'm thinking this on the back and a small "Smile Wear Brand Apparel" banner on the left pocket side on the front. So what do you think? Should I put this into production? It will also be available to buy on www.getsmilewear.com once it's up and running. That's a whole other story I will get into later.
