Many, many years ago, when my sister and I were in grade school, we wanted to open up our own store!! (Just one of our weekend get-a-way's with our parents when dad was not hunting!!) Shelly and I were sitting in the back seat of our vehicle, having a discussion of what we wanted to name
our store - trying to figure out what we would name it, if ever we got the chance to do this! Of course, our mom over heard our conversation (As parents usually do!!) She looked back at us and said, "Why don't you name it, "TaShell's"......, for Tammy and Shelly!" (Instead of arguing about it, I am sure she also said but truly do not recall!! - I mean heck, we loved each other dearly but still had to "Draw that line" between us during the car rides!!) My sister and I just looked at each other and smiled! And....as we were smiling and laughing at the same time, it did soon ....get quiett! .........We both just all of the sudden had become silent...... then we looked at each other again, and said - "OK"! "That sounds like a good name, "TaShell's" it is!"
Unfortunately, my sister did not make it to see "Our Store", as she passed away, April 13, 1987, by the hands of an abuser, her husband. (This too initself, is a whole other story but knowing there would be questions of how and/or why she died, I wanted to go ahead and put this out here) - Also, because "Our" lives together, made me a stronger, much better person, a person who loves to help other's (I too was abused by an abuser, the father of my children) And.......this store was recently just opened because of just that! To help others.........
After my sister passed, many years later, I became a mom. My first child, a daughter, whom I named, London TaShell Cooley.......OF COURSE, my mom reminded me of the name "TaShell", when I had long forgotten about it. Not because I had ever forgotten about my sister, but because I had forgotten about the dream that my sister and I once shared - Because she was no longer here, no longer with us, no longer with me, my very best friend.....my most beloved sister ....whom I love so deeply. That is why I had forgotten about "TaShell's" - the name. As my daughter grew up, we told her of how she got her middle name, not the store - only that she was named after her aunt Shelly Cooley and her mom, Tammy Cooley. London has always loved her middle name :) This year, was the first year that as a parent, I did not have much money to spend on my children (London, my daughter, and Boston, my son) for Christmas. I decided to go online and start looking for gifts that might be affordable, yet nice quality at the same time. I had no idea that these types of things really existed out there!! Once I found a few things, I ordered them and began to receive them. I was literally, "Wowed" by how nice they really were for the price! It was then...., at that moment...., that I thought of others (As I always do and always have done) With that thought.....I said to myself....Why not order more items like this, for this price, and share them with other families, who too...., do not have much money for Christmas this year! And so it began..........I continued to order, continued to receive, and decided the only way to get the word out there....was by using FACEBOOK! Not only FB, but the swap sites on FB! And then one day, a friend of mine (whom I won't mention, since she has never been to our store) also sent a "shout out" to my FB page, asking me......., "What's this about a store??!!"
Well, A store it is I guess! And, so....... therefore; I shall need a name for this store!!! I then decided to tell my daughter about this "New Store" in which I was to open!! And let me just say.......if it were not for London, this store would have never opened up!! London cleaned, decorated and set up this store, prior to Christmas. (After all, it was her store, named after her as well as my sister and myself!) Unfortunately, I am now disabled and have been for many years. I am not able to actually have a store, run a store, clean, decorate or any of those things regarding a store or anything else. My health these days will just not allow me to do this. BUT........With London's great work, she was able to help make "Our Store, TaShell's" (Tammy and Shelly Cooley's) Dream come true! Thank you London for all you do and thank you too, to all of our great customers who have been able to make it out, call, or order online here on our FB page! Without you too, this dream would never have come true! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, where WE LOVE TO HAVE YOU!!
