At 18 minutes after 1 this coming morning, July 18...55 years ago, I made an entrance into this world. My mother was a raven haired, dark skinned, brown eyed beauty! She had long hair like Cher, which I can remember her putting up in actual soup cans. She was 24 when I was born, and I was the fourth child and first girl. I'd like to be able to claim that I was spoiled, being the only girl...but alas, that was not my path. Aside from anything that ever happened to me while growing up, I miss my momma so very much. She died the year I opened my Art and Antique shop, 2012 from lung cancer. One of the greatest memories I have of my mom was that she kept an impeccable house, and when she would clean, she would put the Fleetwood Mac album on, Rumors, and dance and sing around the house. To this day, Stevie Nicks is still one of my favorite artists. At her funeral, I got to pick one song to be played in remembrance of her, that song was Dreams, by Stevie Nicks.

So my birthday wish on this July 18...is that everyone will take a small part out of your day and listen to that song, a remembrance to my Momma, her name was Barbara. I love you Momma.
