The Whispering Aspen

Our products are made and designed by our employees with disabilities supported through ILC. The Whispering Aspen is a boutique located in Elizabeth, CO.

Through Integrated Life Choices, we employ adults with disabilities to work on job skills for future community employment. We design and create our own products in house and work with local artists to give our community members a place to exhibit and sell their own works of art as well. Our employees work hard and prove daily that their disabilities don't keep them from meeting, and even exceeding, all standards.

🌟 Employee of the Quarter Spotlight 🌟

We are proud to recognize Sanse Swenson as The Whispering Aspen’s newest Employee of the Quarter!

Sanse joined our team in February 2025 at our Elizabeth, CO location and has made tremendous contributions ever since. From day one, Sanse has shown a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to try new things—she never says “no” to a challenge!

While she initially felt more comfortable on the production side of her role, Sanse has worked hard over the past 11 months to grow her skills in retail and customer service. By consistently following her to-do lists, she now checks customers out independently and confidently asks for support when needed. Her dedication to learning and growth truly shines.

Sanse’s job coach shared, “She’s really a gem to have around and a breath of fresh air.” She brings positivity to every shift and is always appreciative of her job coaches and teammates.

One of Sanse’s favorite production activities is loom knitting, where she enjoys using her creativity to develop new ideas alongside her job coach.

Congratulations, Sanse, and thank you for all that you do—we are so lucky to have you as part of The Whispering Aspen team!

We are proud to recognize Latashia Guion as The Whispering Aspen’s newest Employee of the Quarter!

Latashia joined our team in June 2023 in Elizabeth, CO, and has made incredible strides in her role since day one. Her growth over the past months has been nothing short of inspiring. She has shown significant improvement in counting money, including the ability to recognize different bill amounts and confidently add bills together.

Latashia has also been perfecting her typing skills, now able to identify the proper keyboard keys and complete typing tasks with increasing her accuracy. One of the most exciting areas of progress has been her ability to work more independently, completing tasks successfully even when her job coach isn’t sitting right beside her.

Latashia’s love for her work truly shines through in everything she does. She enjoys nearly every project in the store, with a special passion for beading work. This craft has helped her continue to improve her counting and explore her creativity by forming new patterns. In addition, she thrives in the retail environment, where she excels at entering inventory and contributing to the overall store experience.

Latashia brings heart, focus, and a positive spirit to every shift, and we are so lucky to have her on the team.

Congratulations, Latashia – your hard work and growth are an inspiration to us all!
