I have a client who found a 1950’s Rushton Chubby Tubby bear in his barn and has inquired about restoration. One leg is completely off. Any thoughts on leg attachment, and washing. I’m nervous about how delicate the fur may be and if it will survive even a gentle hand wash.
Attached pics of front and back, as well as what he would have looked like originally.

Meet Roxie Unicorn. Tragically, Roxie’s young owner lost her life in a December house fire. 😪
Multiple washings uncovered Roxie’s rainbow fur, and many online searches later, I found matching fur. The family wanted to retain as much of the original as possible (including some burned areas). 2/3rds of her body and legs had been destroyed and had to be created from scratch. New fur and fabric were blended into the original as much as possible.
It was an honor to be trusted with Roxie’s restoration, and I’m hoping she’ll bring some joy and fond memories to a family who lost so much. ❤️

Barkley’s owner was in an abusive relationship that ended with the abuser taking a serrated knife to her beloved Barkley. Her teenage children asked for help in giving their mom a recovered Barkley for Christmas.
CrazyEye Clinic was honored to do the repairs at no charge. Our wish is for healing and restoration for Barkley’s mom as well. 🥰
