I thought I was off the hook when I couldn’t find my good scissors. Nope! My lost sewing box with most of my tools was left behind at the performing arts center a couple weeks ago, and completely forgotten about (because I “AM” retired) until SOMEBODY (cough, cough ) text me back saying that she had it. Oh well, here we go 🫣

Sooooo….I did a thing. At my recent work conference, there was an art showcase and I signed up to showcase my seamstress work, and how it relates to my work. Well, I only had 3 minutes, and completely forgot to mention that I was, yep, “retired” 🤦🏾‍♀️ I think I got two new clients 😬 Shout out to Kyla Williams Tate for organizing this session 💜

Good morning family and friends. For those that have been following Ja De’van for a while, you know that for many years I’ve raised funds to benefit my favorite nonprofit I Will Survive, Inc. On April 18, 2026, IWS presents the 2026 Art Jazz Gala, a night of connection, healing, glamour, celebrity guests, art and jazz, and I’d love for you to join me in celebrating and supporting them. Hey y’all, hey 👋🏾 I don’t post here very often, but wanted to share some fashion related art that I saw at the in Chicago. They have a new exhibit called “Paris in Black” that displays the migration of blacks to Europe for better opportunities and how they thrived there. It was truly inspiring, among the many other exhibits. I especially loved the ode to Josephine Baker 🥰 🖤
