It was 9:47 pm, and her toddler would not stop crying.
An earache. Nothing serious β but try telling that to a two-year-old who just wants it to stop hurting right now.
She tried the ice pack from the freezer. He screamed louder and batted it away.
She tried a cold washcloth. Soggy, slipping off, gone in ten seconds.
She tried just holding him. It helped a little. But he was still hurting, and she still felt helpless.
Then she reached for OuchieCap.
She slipped the cold pack inside, pulled the soft puppy hat over it, and placed it gently near his ear. He stopped mid-cry, looked up at her, and let it stay.
That's the whole idea behind OuchieCap. Not a better ice pack. Something soft and familiar that your child will actually let near the ouchie β instead of screaming and batting it away.
Because sometimes what helps the most isn't colder or fancier. It's something that doesn't feel scary to a hurting little kid at 9:47 on a Tuesday night.
Tell us in the comments: what's the one thing that actually works when your kid is hurting?
