Wow, I am absolutely loving the way this two-channel hi-fidelity listening room turned out! 🔥😲
When our client reached out, he literally had carpet on the walls and was wondering why he wasn’t getting the best out of his amazing sound system. The overall layout of the room and placement of the system wasn’t ideal either (which we addressed first). He already had some products from another company (not nearly enough coverage) that also weren’t installed in “ideal” positions.
So, we rethought his room from the ground up. After some thorough deliberation and planning, we decided that implementing a combination of our Acoustifusers, heavy-duty corner bass traps, and six ceiling baffle clouds would be the best (most balanced) approach. Then, we focused on aesthetics. We used this awesome deep red fabric as the base color for all of the wall panels and framed everything with custom black-stained wood, finished in lacquer. The baffles were done in black upholstery so they wouldn’t draw too much attention. We also used that same custom (black-stained wood) with a lacquer finish on all of the Acoustifusers, creating a totally unique, beautiful, one-of-a-kind treatment setup for his room..
Needless to say, he is ecstatic with the results and has reported back that the listening experience in there is “just unbelievable now“ and “sounds as good as it looks!” which we’ll definitely take as positive feedback! 🔥💪 If you’re ready to get your listening room dialed in too, don’t hesitate to reach out. What is THE BEST height for Acoustic Panels or Bass Traps?
You may be surprised to know that when it comes to hanging acoustic panels and bass traps, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution—it's all about what you’re doing within the room. The key isn’t just in the height, but more in the overall coverage percentage. The more of your space you treat, the better control you’ll have over reflections and bass buildup. However, the height you choose should also be tailored to your sound source—whether it's a speaker, instrument, or your voice. Placing panels near the level of your primary sound source can enhance absorption where it matters most.

For bass traps, placing them in the corners helps tame those low-end frequencies that tend to gather there. Floor-to-ceiling bass traps are ideal for optimal coverage. As for acoustic panels, spread them across the walls and ceilings to absorb mid- and high-frequency reflections. It’s not always about how high they are, but how well they control/balance the sound within the room. Check out this incredible custom build and installation we did for our local high school ♥️🖤♥️🖤

Transforming high school band rooms with proper acoustic treatment is crucial for improving and enhancing musical education. By optimizing sound clarity and reducing echo, students can hear themselves (and each other) better, leading to improved learning and performance outcomes.

The band room was closed for a couple of days, sparking the students’ curiosity. Then FINALLY the big reveal happened (once we were finished with the installation). One of the sophomore students was literally in tears once she had seen and heard the finished room! Her reaction was definitely the most rewarding part of the experience for us. 💜

Unfortunately most manufactured acoustic panels are wrapped using a weak burlap fabric. Burlap fabrics tend to stretch out and loosen over time, causing the panels wrapping to “sag” and indent. Weak fabric can even end up tearing over time. Burlap fabric wrapping can be so thin in some cases, that the acoustical insulation (spun glass) fibers will work through the fabric wrapping over time.

Not good…
