Can I have your attention for a second?? We need to talk..

In case you’re new around here you might not know that I’m a Midwest gal. Born in Nebraska, raised in Iowa, my childhood was spent around some of the most hardworking and humble people you’d ever meet. The Midwest is one of my favorite places in the world and I make it a point to travel back multiple times a year just so I never forget how good it is. This week a Derecho hit home across the state of Iowa. If you haven’t heard of it, a derecho is a line of intense, widespread, and fast-moving windstorms that moves across a great distance and is characterized by damaging winds. Kind of like a hurricane, but on land. That happened on Monday and Today?? Over 250,000 people are still without power.... yes, four days later. Can you imagine? In the middle of a pandemic losing a fridge full of food that most people probably scraped by to fill. And not only that, over 43% of Iowa’s crops are now at a complete loss. My grandpa is one of my favorite people in the entire world and over the years he fed and took care of EIGHT kids with the income of his crops. So if you have it in your heart this week, please do a little research on one of my places in the world. Maybe donate a few dollars or say a prayer because my home really needs it this week. 🌽🌽
