Old South Tacoma Way… we had a bank, scooter and bike shop, vintage music instrument store, Tax guy, The doll-shop and train shop, A Printer, Elmos, 2 Chinese restaurants, Italian restaurant, Many venues with music events that were affordable or free to get in. The best gay pub, the old Airport. So many artists and musicians living in the apartments, I always knew everyone. My view out the back door was the beautiful funeral home and it’s just an empty garbage filled lot now. I could hear music everywhere, smells of pizza at the Stonegate, which was the best pizza around, we had it all here. The car shows and the joint music shows. I am glad I got to be a part of that time. There are good and bad things about gentrification and displacement. So even though I am sad to be leaving Tacoma I am also ok more than I thought I would be. The old family and friendships are mostly gone now. Dawson’s, Airport, Cantina, Han at the Vietnamese restaurant are the people I admire and am so proud of for building strong long lasting community building businesses here. Especially Dawson’s. Friendly, efficient staff that know your name, affordable great food, free to walk in and some of the best musicians I have seen there over the years. Follow that model, you can’t lose.

never thought I would see this room without 100 creepy dolls staring back at me… but here I am. They are all packed away and ready to creep up the new doll room.

Glumdrop sign is packed and ready to go to its new home!!! What a crazy life change, but a very big step for me. I can’t visit to show you all my beloved haunted house for Glumdrop!

All my shelves are bare! Glumdrop is packed up and ready for the move to Erie, Pennsylvania and I usually say Transylvania!!Thanks to everyone that stopped in today, I appreciate all the well wishes and love! I will never forget my time in South Tacoma Way!
