Things I Never Thought I’d Say… But I Work at an Antique Shop 🤣💀

Welcome to what may become a new series because, at least once a week, a sentence comes out of my mouth that would make absolutely no sense anywhere else.

“So where do I put this head now that I sold the plant stand?”

For the record, the head is fine. The plant stand found a new home. We’re just trying to navigate the aftermath. 😂

On this day in 1985 (6/22), a little redhead was born.

Today, that little redhead is living her dream of helping run a vintage shop. Unfortunately, that also means many of the things I grew up with are now officially considered vintage (20+ years old). 😂😭

We’re talking:

📺 Watching Beverly Hills, 90210 even though you probably weren’t old enough

As a birthday teaching moment: if it’s over 20 years old, it’s generally considered vintage. Which means my childhood is now inventory.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, bonus dads, and father figures who show up, lend a hand, share their wisdom, and make a difference in the lives of those around them. ❤️

We also hold space today for those missing their fathers, remembering a dad who is no longer here, or carrying a complicated relationship with Father’s Day. We’re thinking of you, too.

A special Happy Father’s Day to Keith, one of the people behind the scenes who helped bring 814 Vintage Marketplace to life. From building walls and tackling projects to helping turn a vision into reality, so much of what you see in the shop today exists because of his hard work, dedication, and willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Today we celebrate all the fathers and father figures who build more than just things—they build families, communities, and memories.
