My name is Laura Nelson, but growing up, my family always called me "Laura Belle". I've loved drawing and art all my life, but really fell in love with painting while taking classes in college. I love finding old "junk" and giving it a new life. I also love finding bargains, digging and "picking" for fun, unusual things. And I love seeing people enjoy the new things and art that I create!

Iā€™m making a broccoli salad, and just figured out a little trick yā€™all might like! The recipe called for bacon pieces, or bacon bits. For this salad, I like tiny pieces of bacon, but Iā€™m not a fan of ā€œbacon bitsā€. So I bought one of these packets, that IS real bacon bitsā€¦but they are NOT crunchy, so I had an idea. šŸ¤—

Wonder if I could microwave them like you do with the pre-cooked bacon strips, so I tried it, and IT WORKED!! I put them on top of a paper towel on a paper plate and microwaved it for a minute. They came out crispy AND it cooked a LOT of the grease out! šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

This little rascal has made himself at home on our back porchā€¦he likes to scare the chickens, he goes in the goatsā€™ enclosure and climbs the trees, Gypsy is not too fond of him, but Iā€™m kinda crazy about him. Heā€™s incredibly sweet, and he talks a lot. And he listens to me. Kirby, Iā€™m glad you chose to stay with me and Lonesome.

Wellā€¦.I got it done while Lonesome Loyd was out mowing! Had to remove the shelves and wall boards out of the closet, remove boards from the living room side and pull out nails, remove part of a stud, build a spot for the nook to sit, then reinstall the wall, and install the nook. šŸ˜…šŸ„³

I opted to hang it higher than it probably wouldā€™ve been originally, but I like being able to see it better!
